I seriously cannot believe it has taken me so long to get this show to you guys... it has been in my collection (in various sources) since the very beginning of my collecting journey.  It's the "Close Encounters" show from Eugene in January '78.  While this jam makes the show notable, I am certain you will see that the rest of the show is worthy of your attention.   Some 1977 JGB for Half-time, courtesy of "Bob"... and this months show is sure to please!

DSOTM # 169 - 7/13/84

A really fun trip to July 13, 1984 at the Greek.  It was a full moon, as well as a Friday The 13th... and there was a shooting star prior to the encore, which is a doozy.   For our Half-time show we have some Van Halen from the Fall of 1982, a tribute to the late great Eddie Van Halen.  We hope you all have a great and safe Holiday season... stay warm and don't get cooties.

This month we have quite the epic musical journey for you.   An outdoor festival in the cold and mud, Bill the Drummer's birthday, and the only Dark Star > Other One on the Europe 72 Tour... of course, we are talking about The Bickershaw Festival.   Joining us at half-time, Sam Cutler calls in with a bunch of really cool memories from this tour.   A lot of fun on an amazing tour, hit play and check this one out!

As promised last month, we continue our journey deep into 1990.  This show, 20 shows in with this line-up (last month was 20 shows until the end of that line-up) finds the band in "swinging for the fences" form.  An amazing outdoor afternoon concert in the desert.  Halftime brings us some JGB from the same time period... really good stuff this month!

This months show comes to us from Brent Mydland's last tour of the West Coast.  A great show and a great sounding recording... this show will tie in with next months show perfectly, a book end.   For half-time we have String Cheese at High Sierra Music Festival.   I love 1990 Dead, and I am pretty sure you guys will love this!

This months show is one big, long, superbly well-played set.   Amazing stuff.   I am not sure how they kept that much energy going for such a long stretch, I guess thats the wonder of youth.  Since it is only one set, there is no halftime, but we spend some time after the show answering your mail.   A lot of fun.... enjoy the ride!

An epic all-time great Dead show for your Flashbacking pleasure!   You guys will really dig this one, its almost impossible not to.  For halftime we have some McCoy Tyner, who recently left us.   This might be the last Flashback for a while... I have been back to working in the office full time, but we are thinking about you guys and hoping you're enjoying the ride!

This months show is an amazing outing, one that I think will help you turn on that person who is on the fence and get them on the bus.   Great songwriting, cohesive playing, an amazing recording and shorter yet effective jamming.   For half-time we have the David Nelson Band playing some Robert Hunter songs you probably have not heard... as you would expect, they are great songs!

Yet another Podcast from a show that "Bob" attended... right in the heart of Eighty-Throar.  An interesting trip out to the coast with the good old Grateful Dead.  For halftime we have some really good David Grisman Quintet to suit your bluegrass and jazz needs all at once.  Hope you guys are doing well... or at least as well as can be.
